Farm by George Orwell

by Yasmina Rita and translated by Christopher Hampton
Friends. You love ‘em but sometimes you just can’t
understand ‘em. Especially when they do something
completely different and unexpected...something that
makes you wonder how they ever became your friends in
the first place.
Serge has bought a modern painting for a huge sum of
money. His best friend, Marc, hates it. Marc can’t
believe that any friend of his could possibly want such
a thing. Enter Yvan – the mutual friend, the go-between,
the meat in the sandwich.
The question is: Are you who you think you are? Or are
you who your friends think you are?
A hit in the West End, Broadway and all around the world,
ART is ‘a remarkably wise, witty and intelligent
comedy...ART has touched a universal nerve.’ Starring
three of Tasmania’s most gifted performers, John

StraightJacket Productions in association with Ellis
Productions presents The Haunting of Daniel Gartrell
by Reg Cribb. Featuring Max Gillies
and Samuel Johnson
A suburban hermit’s life unravels when confronted
by his own dark secrets in this suspenseful drama.
Under an ochre sky something happened at Mt Ragged.
The incident inspired celebrated bush poet Daniel
Gartrell’s most analysed poem. It is missing
its final verse, and the events that occurred at Mt
Ragged, not to mention the poet himself, are a mystery.
Now an enigma, Gartrell (Max Gillies) lives as a recluse
in the suburbs, his only contact is with his daughter.
Gartrell is at home, thinking very oblique thoughts
when an emerging actor (Samuel Johnson) knocks on
his door. Ambitious and optimistic, he has been cast
to play Gartrell in a biographical movie, and in his
research for the role, is ready for anything. But
if he wants to know where Gartrell’s poetry
comes from and understand his state of mind when he
writes, he must in a sense become him. Gartrell leads
him on a merry chase, evading inquiries and playing
unhinged mind games. Is Gartrell an ornery hermit
or a madman gripped by delusions and ghosts that have
chased him since his youth in the outback? Adult
$45, Conc. $40, Under 18 years $20. Purchase
